Random bridal shower favors! Good idea?

My sister is having her wedding on a beach front. Her bridal shower is going to have a theme of flip flops. I was going to buy everyone a pair of baby Blue Flip Flops (since that is her color theme) so they can wear them at the beach during the wedding weekend...Is this a good idea? I will need their shoe sizes so how do I go about asking them in an invitation?
But im not the bride. I dont want to pass out wedding favors. This is for the bridal shower.

Flip flops come in small, med and large and x_large. You know the girls so could pretty well judge their dress/shoe sizes. Medium is size 6 to 7.5, small is 5 to 6.5. This time of year flip flops can be purchased for as little as $2. so get your "best bet" in sizes and throw in some extra mediums. Cute idea, by the way!
