Why does a dollar coin face resistance?

The Susan B. Anthony and the Sacajawea have been flops, basically. Now a new coin featuring presidents is about to be realeased. Is it the concept of a dollar coin, the design or (my personal choice) the size of the new coins? If it were significantly larger than the quarter, would it be accepted?

well lots of people think that ALL cash money is on its way out because of plastic..LOL ain't never gonna happen jack, there are private debts and deals that plastic does not lend itself well to at all. Now I like cash, I like to deal in cash. BUT i for one hate change, i hate carrying it, its heavy , it makes noise, it is not organizable, coins are kinetic and slippery. I like paper its quiet it folds nicely into a billfold or a pocket, I also have confused solid dollar coins for quarters and paid for things with dollars I thought were quarters and this is not good .
