i thought that girls sizes were like 1 and 1/2 sizes smaller but i tried on her flip flops 2day and they fit perfect lol

Maybe she realllllllly liked those flipflops but they were sold out in her size. I've seen plenty of girls who buy their flipflops in a size bigger just to have more room. Some flipflops also run small.
A size 9 in women's is NOT huge. It's not tiny, but it is well within the spectrum of average. Consider the fact that 99.9% of ladies shoes are made in a size 9. Obviously it must not be so enormous if basically every shoe produced comes in that size. Sounds average to me. As further proof, I sell shoes as part of my job and have to bring out plenty of 9's to be tried on.
Personally I vote for the flipflops either being bought a size big or running small for the size they are marked. If you REALLY want to test your shoe size, see if you can get into a pair of her heels.
In the end, even if she has the bigger feet, who cares. My feet are larger than my fiance's, I'm also 3 inches taller. Neither fact has ever bothered him a bit. After all, you're not with the girl just for her feet.
